Karabo’s prayers answered as she is handed a wheelchair

BOTHASHOEK

Dineo Thwala, founder of the Tshepo Foundation, handed over a wheelchair to Karabo Ngele (30) as part of the Mandela month celebrations on Tuesday.

Ngele, from the Doringkop section outside Burgersfort, had no wheelchair. She was born with cerebral palsy and has been in need of one for years.
“We had a brand-new spare wheelchair at home that belonged to my late nephew. We then made an effort to engage the Ngele family to ask them if they needed one. As she is unable to talk, she waved her hands around and smiled instead,” said Thwala.

The foundation is a non-profit organisation that caters for the disabled in Bothashoek and neighbouring villages in Tubatse.
“We work with disabled people; we know how it feels for one not to have a wheelchair.”
She confirmed that the Tshepo Foundation cares for more than 10 disabled people who have various challenges, including some teenagers.
She pleaded with locals to assist with donations to erect a proper shelter for the disabled in Bothashoek.
