Limpopo’s famous comedian and social media influencer, Livhuwani Madadzhe, popularly known as “SABC Livhu”, was arrested in connection with theft of a motor vehicle and fraud.
Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi, National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) Regional Spokesperson in Limpopo, said it is alleged that the accused rented a BMW X3 from Avis and hired vehicles from multiple rental companies over time.
“Furthermore, he allegedly posed as an agent of Avis and other car rental services on social media, offering vehicles for hire fraudulently,” she said.
Malabi-Dzhangi added that Madadzhe is also standing trial in the Thohoyandou High Court, sitting at Waterval Magistrates’ Court, for separate cases of murder and two counts of fraud.
“It is alleged that Madadzhe murdered his wife, Lindelani Nengovhela (32), and disposed of her body in a hole at their homestead. Additionally, he allegedly faked his mother’s death and death certificate to fraudulently claim a funeral policy pay-out. At the time of committing these alleged offences, Madadzhe was out on R50 000 bail under the following conditions: no interference with state witnesses, no further criminal activities, and reporting to Sandton Police Station every Monday and Friday between 08h00 and 16h00,” explained Malabi-Dzhangi.
She said the suspect appeared before the Thohoyandou Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 12 March 2025 on charges of theft of a motor vehicle and fraud.
“The matter has been postponed to 18 March 2025 for a bail application, while his High Court trial is scheduled to continue on 17 March 2025,” concluded Malabi Dzhangi.
