Makua Marathon hungry for more accolades

Daniel Makua (55), known as Makua Marathon believes he still has more to offer to the athletics and marathon sports. Makua was speaking after clinching another gold medal in the Lion Glencore’s fun run last Friday, September 9, in Steelpoort.
“I have lost count of the races I took part in, but in my history of running, I completed 11 Comrades Marathon. I also boost an avalanche of medals.”

He said he is gearing for the 12th Comrades Marathon. “Due to lack of funds and sponsors, I did not compete in the recent race down run Comrades Marathon. Now I feel good, after winning the September 9, Steeelport race.”

Makua won the race in the masters’ category. He completed the 16 KM race in 01:22:05.

“It felt good; it has also increased my desire to compete in many more competitions.”
Makua Marathon pleaded for sponsors to assist him in preparing for the 2023 Comrades Marathon. He can be contacted on 076 266 5031.
