Man apprehended with housebreaking tools might be linked to armed robbery incident
MMAMPHOKGO – The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Limpopo have revealed that the suspect who was arrested for possession of housebreaking equipment in Mmamphokgo Village outside Marble Hall on Friday, 7 June, might also be linked with an armed robbery case in Motetema.
Members of the Provincial Highway Patrol Unit nabbed the 46 year-old suspect after they received information about three armed men who robbed a security officer of his cellphones.
Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, Limpopo Provincial Police spokesperson, said the team proceeded to the specified location where they spotted the culprit.
Ledwaba revealed that the suspect was found in possession of a balaclava, spanner, knife, crow bar and gloves inside a black sports bag.
“The suspect was linked to the commission of an armed robbery incident at Moganyaka Clinic. He was arrested at Mmamphokgo Village on the spot. He might also be linked to with a Motetema armed robbery incident,” explained Ledwaba.
He is expected to appear before the Motetema Magistrate’s Court facing charges of possession of housebreaking implements. Police investigations are ongoing.
