Limpopo Provincial adjustment budget tabled, R90.5 billion now in play

LEBOWAKGOMO On Tuesday 25 November 2025, MEC for Finance in Limpopo, Kgabo Mahoai, successfully tabled the Provincial Adjustment Budget at the Limpopo Legislature in Lebowakgomo.

The budget has been increased from R88.9 billion to R90.5 billion. According to Mahoai, the adjustment process was thorough and grounded on real priorities.

MEC Mahoai appreciated all departments and entities, including everyone who applied prudence and discipline throughout, saying our task now is to carry this work forward and ensure that every rand strengthens service delivery and long‑term stability.

He presented the adjustment budget outlining changes to each department’s allocation. The Office of the Premier saw a decrease of R33 329 million, while the Provincial Legislature received an increase of R89 002 million to support its oversight mandate.

Education Department received a significant boost of R843 822 million, primarily for teacher appointments, scholar transport, and infrastructure repairs.

Agriculture and Rural Development got R49 025 million more, focusing on goods and services, infrastructure, and tools.

The Health Department received R521 783 million, targeting healthcare professional appointments, medicine, and equipment.

Transport and Community Safety Department budget decreased by R112 471 million, while Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure budget increased by R316 664 million. Sport, Arts and Culture saw a decrease of R125 million while COGHSTA’s budget allocation rose by R267 035 million, and Social Development’s budget remained unchanged.
