Struggling family receives much needed donations from FTLM

TUKAKGOMO

The Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality (FTLM) mayor, Eddie Maila, donated clothing and groceries to a needy family in Steelpoort on April 25.
After learning about the plight of the family in Tukakgomo Village on social media, Maila immediately dispatched a team from his office, led by the head of development planning, Cllr Daphney Mampa, to assess the plight of the family.
The FTLM donated uniforms to two primary school learners, necessities for a two-month-old baby, and food hampers for the whole family. He said he was touched by the video that was circulated on social media, which prompted him to intervene by providing the family with food and other essentials.
“I will personally visit the family during the upcoming days. We thank the community members who are displaying the spirit of ubuntu by identifying less fortunate families within their communities. The municipality will strive to assist in such situations within its available means,” said Maila.
He reiterated that FTLM is working with communities to address the plight of the poor.
