Makhuduthamaga Exco ensures smooth running of project
PHOKWANE – In an effort to identify and address challenges that impede service delivery initiatives in Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality, the Executive Committee members embarked on a monitoring programme on Friday, 20 September, in Phokwane Village.
The monitoring initiative is expected to get underway at numerous operations and projects that are currently implemented throughout the municipality.
On Friday, the projects’ monitoring commenced with Dikgerekgere Tuesday programme that was recently launched in Phokwane Village.
Acting Mayor, Mogobe Sam Malaka, Head of Infrastructure Development, carried out the monitoring operation at the village. Together with Head of Community Services, Tabane Rankoe, Deputy Head of Infrastructure Development, Makanyoge Morwamakoti and Ward Councillor, Serutle Mohlakwane, they monitored the re-gravelling and blading of roads in Moria, Mmabatho and Mmakgape sections of the village.
Mayor Merah Mahlase expressed her satisfaction with the continuous cooperative efforts made by the local traditional authority and residents towards ensuring that the Dikgerekgere Tuesday service delivery programme drives development and easy accessibility of the village.
Dikgerekgere Tuesday programme is inspired by the Limpopo Department of Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure’s recent launch of Dikgerekgere Wednesday for the Sekhukhune district in Manganeng Village.
It is aligned with the municipality’s key performance area of basic service delivery and infrastructure development to reduce infrastructure backlogs and improve communities’ quality of life.
