New SDM Political Management Team deployed

SEKHUKHUNE

The Executive Mayor of Sekhukhune District Municipality (SDM), Cllr Minah Bahula, weighed her support to the reconfiguration of local and district political management teams that were deployed on Tuesday 30 July 2024 at SDM municipal chamber in Groblersdal.

The executive mayor congratulated Cllr Aron Machipa, who was elected the new Chief Whip of the Sekhukhune District Council, exchanging places with Cllr Sbongile Nkosi, who has returned to Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality (EMLM).

Nkosi served as Member of the Mayoral Committee leading Women, Children and People with disabilities Portfolio with distinct leadership.

Cllr Machipa replaces Cllr Choris Phokane, who has joined the Limpopo Legislature post-2024 general elections as a member.

In other developments, Cllr Semole Junior Thethe is now the Speaker of EMLM, replacing former Speaker Masesi Mashego, who was appointed MEC for Health in Limpopo.

Cllr Vincent Shoba is the new Speaker of Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality (FTLM), succeeding Reneilwe Pholwana, who has since joined the National Assembly after the general elections, with Cllr Dorah Mphethi elected respectively as Chief Whip.

Executive Mayor Bahula believes these changes will enhance leadership and governance, leading to more effective service delivery to the communities.

“We congratulate and wish our leaders well in their new areas of responsibilities, and hope their strategic leadership brings an impact and does benefit our people in terms of quality services,” said Bahula.
