Glen Cowie family wins Thobela FM 64th birthday competition

GLEN COWIE – Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality Mayor, Merah Mahlase, Sekhukhune District Municipality Executive Mayor, Minah Bahula, Kgoshi Madihlaba Dikoetje and Kgoshigadi Madihlaba joined the Makgoga family of house number 64 in Glen Cowie Village in celebration of their winning of SABC Thobela FM’s 64th birthday competition prize on Saturday, 6 July.

The elated Khomotso Sina Makgoga was named the winner and presented with a cheque of R64 000 sponsored by Standard Bank during the station’s Outside Broadcast at her residence.

Among those in attendance were Thobela FM’s top fan, Kabelo Magolego, Station Manager, Mmankwe Sebola and countless sensational radio personalities.

Mayor Mahlase congratulated the Makgoga family and Glen Cowie community for being chosen as the lucky ones to host the historic birthday in commemoration of the station’s growth, heritage and successes.

In a live interview with Hunadi ‘The Host’, Mahlase outlined the municipality’s service delivery projects and upcoming development programmes, such as Makhuduthamaga Youth Fund which is currently underway through facilitation of the municipality and the National Youth Development Agency.

Attendees were thrilled at great dance moves of Kgoshi Madihlaba as he took the dance floor with both mayors.

The traditional authority appreciated Thobela FM’s gesture to mark its growth with the community of Glen Cowie and the Makgoga family’s luck in being chosen as one of the winners of the historic competition.
