TYUF organise a successful sports tournament for the local youths

The Tubatse Youth Unemployment Forum (TYUF) organised their annual sports tournament in remembrance of the former
councillor in the Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality Thabang ‘TT’ Maupa. on March 21 The tourney was held at Lehlaba Sports grounds at Riba Cross. Maupa was killed by gunmen in November 2018. His killers were handed life sentences by the Limpopo High Court in September 2022.
This was the second edition of the games; they were launched back in 2023. The participants competed in soccer, netball
and chess. The winners received cash prizes and trophies.
In soccer, the 2023 champions, Bakoni Kings FC, successfully defended the trophy by winning 1-0 against River Birds FC. In netball, The Screamy Divas were crowned champions after defeating Mohlophi 6-0 in the finals. In chess, the Mapeya brothers battled it out in the last round, Basanio defeating Cacious to lift the chess trophy.
The winners received cash prizes and trophies. Tumi Riba of the TYUF thanked all businesses and sponsors who supported the day. He appreciated the Bakgekolo Bakgekolo soccer team which also honoured the event by showcasing their soccer skills.
