MOEDING – Sekhukhune District Municipality Executive Mayor, Minah Bahula has emphasized on the importance of community involvement, urging for election of dedicated committees that will liaise with the municipality to resolve water issues.
Executive Mayor Bahula further highlighted on the initiation of high-level engagements with Lepelle Northern Water to formulate a comprehensive strategy to address all water-related challenges in Lepelle-supplied areas.
Bahula was speaking during a service delivery meeting held at Moeding Village within the Ephraim Mogale Local Municipality on 1 April.
She also alluded to the drilling of two boreholes to augment water supply to the local reservoir and three Jojo tanks serving new stands. Additionally, Bahula reflected on the provision of an interim water supply in the area through tinkering.
Lemson Moropjane, SDM spokesperson, said the highly productive service delivery meeting with community sought to address critical concerns and chart a way forward for progress with regard to service delivery.
Kgoshi Kanyane ‘a Nape ‘a Ngwato and Members of the Mayoral Committee, Bella Kupa, Kanana Leokana, Kukie Sefala and Mathale Mabatane, along with community representative, Pienkie Makua attended the meeting which witnessed developmental discussions around key issues affecting the community. Foremost among the concerns raised were lack of access to water and tarring of the local 5km road.
