Suspect arrested for alleged stabbing incident at Ga Masha tavern

The Sekhukhune SAPS arrested a 34-year-old man for allegedly fatally stabbing another man during a drinking session in Ga-Masha Village.
“The suspect allegedly stabbed the man in the early hours of Sunday March 10 at about 04:00,” said Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba.
“According to reports, the suspect and the 34-year-old victim were drinking at the liquor outlet when a dispute erupted between them. The suspect took a beer bottle and stabbed the victim in his chest.”
He said the police and emergency medical services were promptly called to the scene. They pronounced the victim dead.
The suspect was arrested at his residence on Monday March 11, and was scheduled to appear in the Sekhukhune Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday March 12, where he was expected to face a charge of murder. The outcome of this appearance was as yet unknown by the time of going to court.
Police investigations continue.
