ANCYL in Sekhukhune elected new leadership

Following the disbandment of the African National Congress Youth league (ANCYL) in 2018 by the ANC National Executive Committee (NEC) the youth league is now rebuilding its structures before provincial elective conference set for next month.

The mother body disbanded the young lions after it had failed to hold an elective conference and the league structures were replaced by National Task Team (NTT) to oversee the process of building the ANCYL.

As part of the rebuilding, the young lions under Sekhukhune region successfully held its 8th regional elective conference at Boiketlong Lodge, outside Jane Furse on April 2nd.

The conference elected Kabelo Moganedi as regional chairperson and Makanyoga Morwamakoti as deputy.

Lesedi Mmaphakane was elected as secretary, Lungile Mbonani as deputy secretary and Alex Modishane as treasurer.

Office of the regional secretary also congratulated newly elected leadership.

According to the party, the elected leadership is confronted with the mammoth task of complimenting the ANC’s programme of uniting, renewing, rebuilding and defending the gains of our hard-earned democracy.

“The ANC in the region applauds the youth league for embarking on the process of rebuilding and renewing the mandate of the regional structure after such a long period of unsuccessful attempts,” said ANC regional secretary Tala Mathope.

“The ANC has no doubt that the elected leadership will bring back the glory of the indisputable radical, militant and dynamic youth formation that shaped our movement since its formation in 1944,” Mathope adds.

The conference also elected additional members. Mathope said the ANC in the region wishes them well in their new responsibilities of championing the interest of young people in the region.
