ACDP encourages Godly municipalities
ELIAS MOTSOALEDI – Putting God back in governance, the African Christian Democratic Movement (ACDP) in Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality (EMLM) sub region has encouraged members of the community to consider the vision for righteousness, free from corruption and abuse of power system.
Jaco Odendaal, ACDP EMLM Chairperson, recently encouraged the party supporters not to judge due to size as several branches that would be partaking in the local government election were being launched in the local municipality.
Odendaal said that God has surprised the enemies of his people when looking at the scriptures in that seeing political parties filling stadiums had never been a matter to consider
“All these parties are working against God because they want to leave God out of government. But God is the Lord of everything. We must change our language. People talk about the need for a strong opposition. We must correct them. Instead of talking about a strong opposition, we need to talk about the need for a Godly municipal system in EMLM,” said Odendaal.
Odendaal said unless there was a divine intervention the control of the local municipality would be certainly lost.
“Twenty seven years of democracy has not produced the desired effect. Our greatest challenge is to get sleeping Christians to wake up and stop voting for immoral parties that don’t share their convictions,” added Odendaal.
He concluded that it was more about their pockets and personal concerns but about the nation to have safe communities, with service delivery being a priority, corrupt government officials facing full justce, providing housing to the elderly and the homeless and job opportunities being available for local residents.
“We need to be always in prayer for the officials in the highest positions to honour God,” concluded Odendaal.
