Unstable gravel road makes Tebogo’s life difficult

Mamone, just like any other village within Sekhukhune District lacks service delivery. The community of Mamone village (Ga-Rantho) in Jane Furse demands that something be done to their gravel road.
Tebogo Matiapoto who is suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is complaining that the road only gets worse every day. He said it stresses him because his medications have to be delivered to his home every month.
“The drivers from the hospital complain about it, I have to meet them halfway to collect my medication boxes. It’s painful because I am trying to take it easy on myself as the doctor ordered but I don’t have a choice but to carry myself and fetch my medication on the street. Sometimes they try to take another route which is far to reach my place,” Tebogo said.
His grandmother Matabe Molapo said they reported this matter to their ward councilor Disepu Mothongwana.
“We were then informed that a Caterpillar truck will clean the road. It did but that did not last a month, it gets worse after rainy days. We are pleading with anyone responsible to please help us. This is our only way in and out of our homes, we kindly plead help before it gets worse,” She said.
Furthermore, she said the gravel road is worse than it looks; cars get stuck when it’s raining. She adds that she’s afraid the drivers will stop delivering Tebogo’s medication because of the road.
