Tafelkop residents launch education initiative to support local scholars

A group of 17 dedicated residents from Tafelkop Village in Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality (EMLM) have come together to launch a programme aimed at voluntarily support children from local schools.
The initiative, which focuses on providing after-class assistance, including homework help and guidance on challenging subjects, is already making a positive impact on the lives of many young learners.
According to programme leader Johannes Nkgadima, the initiative’s ultimate goal is to expand its reach to cover all schools in the Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality.
Currently, the group is working with four local schools, providing a safe and supportive environment where children can receive the help they need to succeed academically.
Nkgadima said they started the initiative after seeing the importance of empowering the next generation with the tools and support they need to excel academically.
“We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. By providing this support, we hope to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our young people and help them build a brighter future,” he said.
Nkgadima emphasized that they believe that the programme is one of the community-driven initiatives and will make an impact, the dedicated individuals can and will make a difference in the lives of others.
“With this programme and others that are still on the pipeline, we are committed to continue our work and expanding our reach to make a positive difference in the lives of as many children as possible. As the programme continues to grow and evolve, I can say it serves as a shining example of what can be achieved when people come together with a shared vision and a commitment to making a difference,” he said.
