Kgoshi Tseke Marishane V installed as senior traditional leader
GA-MARISHANE – High profile government officials and traditional leaders converged in Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality to witness the milestone in the cultural and traditional leadership calendar of the Ga-Marishane people during the inauguration of Kgoshi Tseke Kgopotso Marishane V on Friday, 22 March.
Community members from across the district and Limpopo province as large also formed part of the occasion which was presided over by Limpopo MEC for Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs, Basikopo Makamu, who also presented the senior traditional authority leader certificate and the Batau Royal Chair, on behalf of Premier Chupu Mathabatha.
The ceremony, which underscores the importance of traditional leadership in the promotion of unity, culture and development within communities, also served as a platform for engagement on discussions on the role of traditional leadership in the modern era, community development initiatives and the preservation of cultural heritage.
Kgoshi Tseke Marishane is a visionary leader with a notable potential to foster unity, empower citizens and drive sustainable development across the village.
The Executive Mayor of Sekhukhune District Municipality, Minah Bahula expressed her congratulatory remarks to Kgoshi Tseke Marishane and extended her sincere appreciation. Bahula further welcomed the immense contribution of traditional authorities to the development of communities.
Bahula indicated that symbolises collective determination to uphold traditions whilst embracing progress. “We look forward to working hand in hand with Kgoshi Tseke Marishane and all stakeholders to realize our shared vision of prosperity, inclusivity and progress in the district of Sekhukhune,” said Bahula.
The Marishane Royal House, Moroangoato Traditional Council, also received praises from Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality Mayor, Merah Mahlase following the successful inauguration of their senior traditional leader, Mmaswi ‘A’ Hlabirwa.
Mahlase called on all community members to rally behind Kgoshi Marishane and his Royal Council for the betterment and development of the village through his wisdom and collaborative initiatives with all spheres of government.
