Limpopo SAPS deploys 132 new Police Constables
POLOKWANE – The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Limpopo has deployed 132 newly recruited and trained Police Constables to various districts across the province to strengthen crime prevention efforts, particularly during the upcoming festive season.
The newly appointed Constables are hitting the ground running, following the successful completion of their rigorous training and pass-out parades conducted at various SAPS training academies.
The deployment ceremony was held at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Tuesday 2 September 2025.
Provincial Commissioner of the Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, officially deployed the newly recruited and trained Police Constables.
Addressing the event, Hadebe gave the newly appointed Constables their marching orders, emphasizing the critical role they will play in ensuring that residents, holidaymakers, and businesses in the province are feeling safe.
“As the newly appointed Constables, you will play a critical role in ensuring that residents, holidaymakers, and businesses in the province are feeling safe. I urge you to respect one another, especially your male counterparts and the communities you will be serving. Do your work diligently and respect the rights of the individual,” said Hadebe.
She furthered reiterated the importance of professionalism and integrity in the line of duty.
“At your respective stations that you are attached to, you will find negative people, choose what you listen to and avoid wrong groups. Attitude determines altitude,” advised Hadebe.
She also emphasized the responsible use of firearms, stating that newly appointed Constables should use their discretion when absolutely necessary and justified.
“Criminals are not playing outside. They are daring. Don’t be generous to them, make sure you arrest them for the right reasons. When leaving your home, invite God to protect you and thank Him when you return safely,” stated General Hadebe.
Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Crime Detection, Major General Samuel Manala advised the Constables of their responsibility, which is to serve and protect.
The newly appointed Constables were placed in different investigation units in the five districts and the Local Crime Record Centre (LCRC).
