Mahlatse’s new book explores the power of forgiveness and healing
APEL
Mahlatse Nchabeleng, a renowned poet and author from Apel in Ga-Mankotsane Village in the Sekhukhune area, has recently published her new book, “Hey! You Ought to Forgive”.
The book is a powerful exploration of the importance of forgiveness and healing, and how these two concepts can transform lives.
According to Mahlatse: “Childhood or past traumas, whether through rejection, neglect, abuse, separation, or painful words, leave scars that shape how we see ourselves, how we relate to others, and even God’s purpose for our lives.”
She believes that these hidden scars can silently affect our relationships, behaviours, and growth, and that forgiveness is a crucial step towards healing.
In “Hey! You Ought to Forgive”, Mahlatse shares personal experiences, stories of others, and biblical accounts to illustrate the transformative power of forgiveness.
She writes: “When we forgive, we release ourselves from chains of bitterness, and when we heal, we become whole again. A healed soul can heal many other souls, creating a ripple effect of love, compassion, and restoration in our communities.”
Mahlatse’s book is a message of hope for those who have been wounded by life. She believes that forgiveness is not only an act of mercy to others, but also a gift of freedom to ourselves.
“The journey of forgiveness is not always easy, it may require courage, support, therapy, counselling, or community,” she says. “Yet through faith and God’s grace, it is always possible,” she adds.
“Hey! You Ought to Forgive” is Mahlatse’s second book, following her poetic work, “Divine Delays Unveiled: Embrace the Journey of Waiting”.
Both books are connected by a common thread of hope, faith, and the transformative power of God to guide us through waiting, healing, and forgiveness.
Mahlatse’s hope is that her book will inspire readers to embark on a journey of forgiveness and healing.
“With God by our side, we can confront our pain, let go of the past, and live the life He created us for: whole, free, and unburdened,” she says.
“Hey! You Ought to Forgive” is a powerful reminder that healing is a blessing that we all need in life. It’s a must-read for anyone who has been wounded by life and is seeking a path towards forgiveness and healing.
