LTA launches Winter Campaign in Kruger National Park

The Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA) has on Friday 30 May 2025 announced the launch of its Winter Campaign in the Kruger National Park.
The iconic Kruger National Park is a world-renowned tourist destination that boasts over 70% of its landmass in Limpopo Province.
The campaign, themed “Warm Wild Winter”, was set to invite South Africans and the global community to experience the province’s “second summer” and enjoy its mild winter temperatures.
According to World Data Info, Limpopo is one of the warmest regions in South Africa, with an average daily high temperature of 26 degrees. The province remains warm to hot for several months of the year, with temperatures continuously above 25 degrees, sometimes reaching up to 29 degrees.
The media launch of the Winter Campaign has taken place at the Mopani Rest Camp in the Kruger National Park.
The event was officially opened by the MEC of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism (LEDET), Tshitereke Matibe, who announced a line-up of activities for the campaign.
The media launch preceded by a Media Colloquium, where LTA discussed its extended mandate of Destination Trade and Investment Promotion.
LTA CEO, Moses Ngobeni, stated that the launch of the winter campaign promotes and markets Limpopo as a viable tourist destination both locally and internationally.
“The agency incorporated several aspects into the campaign, including a campaign launch, digital media campaign, regional activations, and regional events support,” he said.
Ngobeni indicated that the purpose of the event was to position Limpopo Province as a leading tourist destination in Southern Africa, increase brand equity and awareness, and establish strategic business partnerships with tourism players in the province and beyond.
“This is one of four seasonal campaigns to promote Limpopo as a top tourist destination, making it top of mind and memorable for tourists and holidaymakers,” he said.
MEC Matibe emphasized that Limpopo offers something for everyone, with its rich cultural heritage and diverse activities.
“The Winter Campaign is a key deliverable for the first quarter of our entity, and we are utilizing it to promote Limpopo as a premier tourist destination both locally and internationally,” he concluded.
