EPMLM empowers councillors with Ethics and Governance Workshop

The Ephraim Mogale Local Municipality (EPMLM) has on Thursday 13 and Friday 14 March 2025, conducted a two-day principles of ethics and governance workshop for councillors.
According to the municipality, the workshop was purposely conducted to build good moral culture for the conduct of councillors.
The municipality furthered said the initiative was an ethics training to ensure efficiency and effectivity in all practices, and ensure a complete no-tolerance to unhealthy ethical practices to ensure that there is no development of unethical organizational cultures.
During the programme, councillors were equipped with knowledge to ensure a practice of application ethics, principles and professionalism.
They were equipped with skills to enlighten knowledge and insight in to existing legislation, regulation and code of conduct for councillors on issues affecting activities of the municipality.
EPMLM Council Speaker, Rebecca Lentsoane, said ethical behaviour is very important for the integrity of the institution.
“As leaders of this institution, we need to commit to practice these principles and ethics without failure and always make sure that we are up to par with the code of conduct,” said Lentsoane.
The effective training programme also helped the municipality to equip councillors with knowledge, skills and values necessary to provide ethical and accountable governance.
