Keerom Community Hall officially opens
KEEROM – Ephraim Mogale Local Municipality Mayor, Given Moimana called on residents to guard against vandalism of public infrastructure and theft of public property.
Mayor Moimana was speaking during the official handover of the Keerom Community Hall, coupled with the presentation of the 2023/2024 Draft Annual Report to ward 1, 2 and 3 clusters on Tuesday, 11 February.
Moimana reiterated on the significance of safeguarding the facility and urged the community to condemn vandalism in the strongest possible terms.
The mayor congratulated the community ahead of the building of a new library in the area, a project that will be implemented by government soon.
Moimana was accompanied by Kgoshi Matlala of the Matlala ‘A’ Rakgoadi Tribal Authority, Council Chief Whip, Itumeleng Magane and several other Executive Committee members.
The public consultations on the 2023/2024 Draft Annual Report of the municipality is expected to continue to other wards and community members are encouraged to make their submissions.
Residents on the municipality’s Facebook page appreciated the hall, further calling for the institution to address the dire conditions of roads in Matlerekeng, Rathoke and Ga-Botha villages to mention but a few.
They pledged to ensure the safety of the newly built community hall which will benefit them during occasions such as community gatherings and hosting of other developmental initiatives.
Some ventilated concerns over the tar road in Uitvlught Village, citing that its quality remains questionable.
