The Driver of the Year Competition is an initiative to encourage drivers to adhere to road safety. The competition is also used to educate the public about road safety, and the implications of non-adherence.

Mathye has used the ceremony to encourage drivers to continue being vigilant during their travels within the province, considering that we are approaching the Festive season and she is confident that there will be less fatalities.
She raised a concern on drivers who do not take regular rest during their travels and urged them to refrain from driving when fatigued.

“Thank you to all participants for your dedication to road safety! We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our partners, sponsors, officials, and organisers who made this event possible. Thank you to the esteemed judges for your meticulous evaluation and impartial judgment. Your contributions have helped promote road safety and recognise excellence among drivers in Limpopo”.
