Get ready for a vibrant Phala Phala FM Royal Heritage Festival

The Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA) said they are elated to be part of the 2024 edition of the Annual Phala Phala FM Royal Heritage Festival, which is billed to take place from 13 to 14 September 2024.
The cultural event has been preceded by the media launch that took place on Friday 2 August 2024 at Spar in Mutsindo Mall, Thohoyandou, Vhembe District Municipality (VDM).
The Phala Phala FM Royal Heritage Festival is an annual event that celebrates Arts, Culture, Sports and Heritage in Limpopo Province.
The festival brings festivities that uplift the local communities through Cultural Tourism, Arts & Culture, Sports and Education.
The organizers stated that this year’s festival promises to be bigger and better, with an exciting line up starting with Gospel on Friday the 13th September 2024, concluding with other music genres like Hip Hop, Reggae, Traditional Music, Afro-pop, Soul, Amapiano, Jazz and others.
The heritage event will set to be concluded on 14 September 2024 at Royal Gardens, Nandoni Dam in Thohoyandou.
The festival will feature local artists from Limpopo and national, as well as international artists. Through a diversity of its offering, the festival will play a role in the preservation and promotion of the cultural heritage. It also promotes the use of the various languages, food, traditional rituals as part of social cohesion and nation building.
LTA, which was part of the launch, was represented by its Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), Modjadji Makoela.
She welcomed the initiative by the organizers, stating that it will grow the economy of the district and the province at large.
“We are excited to be part of this major event, which will boost the economy of Vhembe District but also grow tourism in the area. We are calling for all the people in the province and beyond to support the festival,” she said.
Phala Phala FM Programme Manager, Sharon Ravele, made a plea to the people of Vhembe and listeners of the station to come to the festival in numbers to support the event. She encouraged the public to buy tickets as early as possible while they are still available at low prices.
On the other hand, Madikana Matjila, Limpopo SABC Combo Business Manager, also encouraged the people from Vhembe and other parts of the country to come in droves to support the annual festival.
MEC responsible for Limpopo Economic Development, Environment and Tourism (LEDET), Tshitereke Matibe, emphasized the importance of support of the event by local people.
“This event will contribute to the economy and tourism growth of the province. We are excited about this initiative that is meant to support culture and heritage of our people. We are all eagerly waiting for the festival as it is an important event to unite the people in the district and indeed the whole province,” said Matibe.
