Josi Events and Projects has on Wednesday 25 January donated school shoes and sanitary towels to children who are coming from underprivileged families in various schools around Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality (EMLM).
The benefiting schools were Makeke Primary, Luckau Primary, Sindile Primary and Zwanani Primary. The company has handed-over sixty pairs of school shoes and 75 packs of sanitary towels.
Josi Events and Projects Event Coordinator, Dipuo Mogudi, said the initiative is a collaborative effort with other social partners aiming to give back to the less fortunate within their communities.
“This initiative was driven by Josi Evenst and Projects Director, Josiah Machai, as a way of giving back to the community of the less privileged,” she said.
During the hand-over, Mogudi informed learners that a school is practically a second home for the company where they interact with children and teachers to create a bigger and stronger family with them.
“There is no need to feel ashamed in asking for a sanitary towel when that time of the month comes. It is of course a call of nature, and you should feel free to respond with confidence. A sanitary towel is a tool in making a girl child easier to face life’s endeavours,” she said.
Mogudi further said learners should avoid teasing each other about torn shoes as this is another way of bullying.
“A pair of school shoe is a need for every child. In the contrary it takes a community to raise a child. Josi Events aspires the quote of Bono ‘I am, because we are’,” she said.
Mogudi had extended special appreciation to everyone who has donated privately and publicly to make the outreach initiative a success.
“To our photographer Modiatech and Josi Events team, we thank you and may God bless you in abundance. Monsterlus Online Radio, thank you for showing up,” she said.
