Needy learners receive new school bags in Moteti 

MOTETI – “To improve the education of local children as a fundamental right, and encourage them to concentrate on their subjects till they reach to the sky, is our dream.” said Paul, manager of Roots Butchery in Kwaggafontein outside Groblersdal in Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality.

This during the butchery’s show up at Rebone and Nkadimeng Primary schools in Moteti area recently which saw a donation of 100 school bags to the needy learners.

“Today we have decided to give back to those learners who, we have noted, normally go to school without backpacks. You sometimes find them in the morning carrying their school books in plastic bags and so forth,” says Paul.

Ward Councillor within Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality, Thete encouraged local parents to help develop their children so that they will become responsible citizens for our country.

she emphasised the importance of donating to destitute and less privileged children as that gives them the dignity and motivates them to work hard academically.

The event was attended by councillors Junior Thete, Thabo kgagara, Member of the Executive Committee (MMC) responsible for social development, Ndosi and Masotja from Thembisile Hani Municipality, Community Development Workers and Ward Committee Members and School Governing Bodies (SGB)s

Simon Makua, Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality Communications Manager, indicated that the municipality encourages the business community to provide the little they have to improve lives.
