Local artist gears-up for new single after taking a break
Dennilton
After being out of spotlight for a while, a local musician based in Dennilton, Siyabonga Ntlatleng, will be releasing his new Hip Hop remix single titled “Ausi Please”. The single will be dropping next month, collaborating with various local artists.
Ntlatleng is a household name in Dennilton and surrounding places and has been in the music industry for almost a decade.
He released his first single, “Inja Ka Gogo”, back in 2016 which has boosted his image in the music industry.
Ntlatleng said his upcoming single is about an unsupportive nagging girlfriend who is more about gold digging and annoying.
“The remix of the single features various artists who came on board to share their story and experiences about that kind of a girl. Fans can’t really wait to hear the remix since there are snippets of the song making rounds on the internet,” he said.
Since venturing in music, Nltatleng released a number of hit Hip Hop songs including “1030 Star”, which was released in 2018.
“The song was titled behind Dennilton area code, 1030, and was relatable and receiving airplay in local radio stations and featured in several newspapers,” he said.
In 2017, he won the “Most Downloaded Song” accolade in the Dennilton Hip Hop Awards (DHHA) and the following year he became the “Best Male Newcomer” in the same awards. He went on to win the “Best Collaborative Song” Award in the DHHA in 2019.
Ntlatleng said after experiencing challenges throughout his music journey that forced him to take a break in 2019, he returned to pursue his music passion late 2022.
“Sadly life became a bit sour in 2019 for me, all the momentum paced down and i had to stop recording and pushing music. Mid-life crisis and growing up challenges deterred me from continuing with my music career. I had to focus on other things until I become fit enough to can return to music. I had to allow everything to settle back by allowing myself to take a back seat, had to find himself, find my own true sound, pure mental healthiness and spend time analysing my self-introspection,” he said.
Ntlatleng said apart from “Ausi Please”, he will be releasing another single soon to be titled. “I am The Musician I Think I am”, which he believes will take him to the top again as it tells kasi stories with a unique banging trap beat.
“I believed the project will introduce me to the South African Hip Hop industry nationwide,” he said.
