EPMLM SMMEs afforded showcasing opportunity

MARBLE HALL – More than 50 local Small Micro Medium Enterprises were afforded an opportunity to showcase and sell their products in Marble Hall Town on Friday, 30 October 2022 as an initiative of the Ephraim Mogale Local Municipality (EPMLM).

Percy Moagi, EPMLM Communications Manager, explained that the primary objective was to promote locally produced products to the public and to enhance local economy.

The event was graced by the attendance of EPMLM Council Speaker, Rebecca Lentsoane, EXCO members, councilors, Municipal Manager, Thabitha Matladi, Director and Municipal officials as well as Small Enterprise Development Agency officials.

EPMLM Mayor, Given Moimana, made a clarion call to the public to support local SMMEs through buying their products.

Moimana indicated that the Local Economic Development office should work with community service unit to curb illegal business activities that were happening around the Marble Hall Town.

“We should have a flea market on a quarterly basis to encourage people to support our local business. This will help government in reducing unemployment because the majority of these local businesses have employed some staff,” added Moimana.

The mayor and his entourage did a walkabout to all the SMMEs stalls and supported them.
