StatsSA count SDM mayor
GROBLERSDAL
A team from Statistics SA visited the home of the Number One citizen of Sekhukhune District Municipality, Executive Mayor Cllr Julia Mathebe to count her, along with her family.
The Census helps policy-makers to understand the size and profile of the South African, population for better planning.
Mathebe encouraged the residents of Sekhukhune District to embrace the Statistics SA fieldworkers who are doing this important work across the length and breadth of our majestic land.
“There is a critical role that the size of the population is playing when coming to the allocation of equitable share.
” Our communities quiet often (raise) the issue that they are tired of being counted not knowing that to be counted is so important and also to the budget processes of the municipality.
“So we are humbly requesting them to allow Census 2022 to count them so that we can get resources form the national coffers to assist with service delivery,” Mathebe added.
Previously, the Stats SA team visited the home of Premier Stan Mathabatha, who was amongst the first Limpopo citizens to be counted.
