Local young model donates to her peers

BURGERSFORT

Carol Kgwete, a 17 year old model from Burgersfort has started an organisation to assist the needy local girls. She recently handed sanitary towels to the needy in and around Fetakgomo Tubatse.
The Grade 11 pupil at Curro Meridian Karino has recently started an NGO by the name “Matla a rona” which means “Our Strength”.
“ I started this organization to promote unity amongst people of different cultures and races because I believe unity is key,” she said.
One of her recent campaigns, the “need a towel? I got you”, is a campaign that encourages unity amongst young teenagers. It teaches them to come together and help a sister in need, especially during “that time of the month”
She said the provision of sanitary towels goes a long way in restoring the dignity of needy learners who without the necessary support, are at risk of absenting themselves from school. Kgwete thanked family, members, friends and locals who support her in her quest to change lives for the better.
The kind hearted girl is currently a semi-finalist for Miss Limpopo Province and is ready to represent her home town and inspire unity in the youth of her community. “It’s best to always invest in your own community. All I need is support from people of Tubatse.”
