After allegations that Dilokong health care workers are mistreating patients, Sekhukhune Times sent an email to the Health spokesperson Neil Shikwambana.
He responded by saying the easiest way for them as the department of health to be aware of complains or rather challenges in all Limpopo hospitals is when victims lay formal complaints directly to them.
“In every hospital, there is a Quality Assurance Office which handles those complaints and we encourage anyone who experiences unsatisfactory service to approach that office to complain formally. Alternatively, they can approach the offices of the CEO/ of HOI in those institutions. As a department we encourage the spirit of complaining to relevant offices because it allows us to correct and improve,” he said.
Shikwambana adds that the MEC visits health care facilities from time to time for different reasons. Therefore, they have managers in all those facilities that are responsible for day to day running of those institutions.
However, Shikwambana encourages people to come forward so the department can provide help or answers. “Every case is dealt with based on merits,” he said.
