Penelope Pebetse Selema 21-years-old is a dedicated, passionate and self-inspired young woman hoping to make modeling a dream come true career.

She is a finalist for the face of Limpopo 2021. Penelope has all her hopes up high to win the crown.

“Penelope the model” who is from Ga-Mphahlele, Makurung is not only beautiful but smart, she wants to start a foundation to help young girls like her as she realized there are many of them with the love for modeling in her village.

“I want to meet up with my fellow models in Ga-Mphahlele so that we can unite and come up with a solid plan to help other young girls. We could raise funds to buy sanitary pads and donate them,” she said.

However, Penelope has always had the love for modeling since a young age. Not so long ago she entered a few beauty pageants, but unfortunately she could not afford to enter those she had always dreamed to be part of.

“The hardest thing was not being able to pay registration fees. I was raised by a single parent and it was difficult for my mom to tackle between paying beauty pageant registrations and feeding us at home. But things are better now, being one of the finalist for the face of Limpopo is a dream come true,” Penelope said.

Her mother, Charlotte Mphahlele is proud of her daughter. “Pebetse was shy and I still believe she is but when she gets on stage, she turns into something else. I wish everyone could see how amazing she is. I know one day she will be our Miss South Africa,” she said.
