Needy pupils receive much needed donations

NEBO- Needy pupils in and around Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality (MLM) were handed school uniforms on Friday.

The Limpopo department of Social Development successfully launched the school uniform distribution program at Phaahla Community Hall.

Social Development MEC Nkakareng Rakgoale and MLM mayor Minah Bahula gave away new school uniform to nine schools under Nebo Circuit and over 200 schools across Sekhukhune District Municipality (SDM).

More than 1300 schools across the province were identified to benefit from the school uniform project, and these are children from disadvantaged family background.

In the SDM, the beneficiaries were needy leaners from the Malebese, Motsemogolo, Ranong, Kopjeng, Mogaletlwa, Mmeši and Mmakadikwe primary schools, including Mantlatle and Mpole High schools.

Bahula reaffirmed local government’s efforts and commitment to continue supporting the education sector

“We are committed to continue working closely with all our schools and the education department to help address challenges that our educators, learners and School Governing Bodies encounter on daily basis.

“We therefore support and appreciate efforts from the Rakgoale’s department that not only seeks to improve the socio-economic challenges of our children but also calls on all of us in government and societies to work together and continue to prioritize education for the sustainable and developmental of our people and our country “.
