ALLEGED MISTREATMENT IN DILOKONG HOSPITAL

DRIEKOP

People on social media started signing a petition against Dilokong Hospital in Limpopo, Burgerfort. The community of Burgersfort is crying for their health and safety. It is alleged that most women have given birth on their own in the wards without any assistance.

There are many complaints about Dilokong hospital and victims are willing to come forward only with Limpopo MEC of health Dr Phophi Ramathuba’s help.

Ntate Maphanga from Driekop is a victim of unfair treatment in Dilokong hospital, he was a patient in May 2020 and diagnosed with TB. He said he was given a treatment that resulted in making his life miserable. He started growing a lump on his chest. Surgery was done but only got worse. “I went to the hospital again because food that I ate was coming out of the wound. When I got there I was told that my file was missing. Another file was opened and later went missing. My family requested a transfer later from the hospital and they said they will transfer me to another hospital themselves.” He said

After a week the family went to the hospital and realized Maphanga is still in Dilokong hospital, he was taken home. The family is seeking advice on what steps to take to get help.

Sekhukhune Times visited Dilokong hospital and the CEO suggested we talk to Limpopo health spokesperson Neil Shikhwambana first. We emailed the spokesperson and still waiting for a response.
