Mayor Moimana rewards top achieving students

The Mayor of Ephraim Mogale Local Municipality (EPMLM), Cllr Given Moimana, has showered 2022 matric top achievers with goodies for their outstanding performance in the 2022 academic year.
The prestigious event was held at Municipal Town Hall in Marble Hall with dignitaries from the Department of Education, EPMLM and other various stakeholders attending.
Top achieving learner in the local municipality, Pinyana Matlala, from Manyaku Secondary School, was awarded a laptop, certificate of appreciation and a trophy.
Matlala obtained 89.5 % average with three distinctions in Mathematics, Physics Science and Life Science.
Kgothatso Tlaka, from Hututu Secondary School became the second best achiever after obtaining 86.9 % average in his 2022 matric results. Tlaka received a laptop, certificate and a trophy from the mayor.
Itumeleng Mothoa from Mahlakudishe Secondary School emerged as third best achiever with an average of 84.7 % in his 2022 matric results. Mothoa walked away with a laptop, certificate and a trophy.
Other learners who were awarded during the event were Tshepiso Mogajane, Kgopotso Makofane, Mmapula Mohlala, Kabelo Mmakola, Keabetswe Monama, Temosho Mogashwa and Dimakatso Bapela. They all received trophies and certificates for their good performance in the 2022 academic year.
The mayor congratulated all the awarded learners and encouraged them to do well in their future endeavours.
“Education is the only panacea to activate a better future and breaks the poverty circle in our lives,” he said.
Dr Moleseng Nkoagatse a medical doctor, who was one of the bursary beneficiaries from the local municipality, thanked the institution for giving her a chance to study and complete her degree to make her dreams come true.
Nkogatse furthered motivated and encouraged the ten best performing matriculates to work hard and follow their academic goals.
Circuit Coordinator in the local municipality, TA Lethole, commended the matriculates for their resilience, hard work and for making it against all odds during the time of Covid-19 and load-shedding.
