EPMLM Mayor motivates Moutse West schools

The Mayor of Ephraim Mogale Local Municipality (EMLM), Cllr Given Moimana, embarked on a Back to School programme visiting various schools in Moutse West outside Marble Hall.
According to the local municipality, the aim of the mayor’s visit was to motivate learners after the schools reopen for the 2023 academic year.
Moimana has on Tuesday 24 January, paid homage to Mabake Secondary School in Rathoke in the Moutse West Circuit.
The school obtained 94.1 % in the 2022 matric pass rate and occupied position one in the circuit.
The mayor congratulated all the stakeholders who contributed to the pass percentage of the school. He also motivated the current grade twelve learners, urging them to take a leaf from the matric class of 2022.
Moutse West Circuit Manager, Ms Mtshweni, who was present during the day, welcomed the municipality entourage and applauded the school for their sterling performance in the 2022 matric results.
Later during the day, Moimana visited Rephafogile Secondary School which obtained 73% matric pass and More-o-Mogolo and Hlogo Tlou Primary Schools to motivate the learners.
Furthermore, prior to his visit on Tuesday, Kgaga Tlou and Sebjalebjale Secondary Schools in Moutse West. Both schools have performed well in 2022 Matric results with Kgaga Tlou improved from 70.1% in 2021 to 93.9 % in 2022 matric results.
Sebjalebjale improved from 64.1% in 2021 to 85.3% in 2022 matric results.
“We are here to encourage educators, learners and school governing Body to continue to do well and not drop the ball this year 2023, your job is commendable,” he said.
Moimana urged learners to refrain from smoking drugs, alcohol abuse, teenage pregnancy and crime.
“Yours duty is to come to school, study hard and pass. Education is a societal matter and it needs all the stakeholders to work together for the betterment of education in our communities,” he said.
