Disadvantaged family needs your support for proper shelter

Ga-Radingwana

For the past seven years, COGHTSA in Limpopo has failed to complete an RDP house for a disadvantaged Kgaphola family in Ga-Radingwana under Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality (FTLM).

The department which is led by MEC Basikopo Makamo has an unhealthy record of not completing RDP houses throughout the Limpopo province.

In many cases the department accuses appointed contractors for failing to complete their work in time despite being paid.

A mother of three, Betty Kgapola, said they have been living in a one mud roomed house for the past eleven years.

Betty said she was happy when her RDP house was constructed not knowing that it will remain unfinished till today.

She said they only depend on child support grant.

Hopeless family believes the government failed them as it failed to ensure that their RDP house is complete.

As an alternative Betty is imploring with ordinary citizens to help in building them a proper house.

She said she does not know why her RDP house was left incomplete.

“Our lives are in danger since it is rainy season, we have 11 years living in this loamy soil house and there is no breadwinner. We are four and we rely on one Social grant which is received by a family member,” said the family.
