EFF Sekhukhune elects new leadership

Following the disbanding of party’s leadership structures in Limpopo over dismal showing in the 2021 Local Government Election, the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in Sekhukhune Region, has finally elected a new leadership.

The EFF Sekhukhune Regional Command Team (RCT), formed by five new regional leaders and sixteen additional members, was elected during a Regional Peoples Assembly, held on Saturday 12 November at Nthane Primary School in Ga-Madiseng Village outside Burgersfort.

Ali Maloba was elected new Chairperson, Sakie Mohuba as new Deputy Chairperson, Gift Machaba was elected new Secretary of the organization, Mahlako Tladi as the new Deputy Secretary and Thabitha Manasoe was elected new Treasurer of the party in the region.

As the newly elected Chairperson of the organization, Maloba said the party will be guided by its seven cardinal pillars to tackle service delivery issues.

Maloba indicated that EFF in the region will focus on current burning issues of poor service delivery and corruption in Ephraim Mogale Local Municipality that includes incomplete Mamphogo Sports Complex worth of R60 Million, allegations of infrastructure services director who was suspended with full pay for sitting at home, service provider who abandoned a road project between Mashemong and Mooihoek in a project worth R22 Million and the incomplete Leewfontein Sports Complex, with a tune of R15 million paid and constructor requesting additional funding.

“The other focus will be on Rendeals 4 Consulting Company, which continues to milk Sekhukhune District more, R100 Million spent only on designs with most of their projects have collapsed,” he said.

Maloba thanked EFF national deployees, delegates and members for having confidence in his leadership.

Mgcini Tshwaku, EFF Member of Parliament (MP) who was deployed convener in Sekhukhune to facilitate the region after it was disbanded, said the Regional Peoples Assembly went as planned.

“The fighters were disciplined, considering the fact that the conference took 34 hours to complete,” he said.

Tshwako said he is confident that capable leadership was produced in the conference, notably, with Ali Maloba as Chairperson and Gift Machaba as Secretary.

“We have full confidence in them and that they will take Sekhukhune Region to new heights,” he said.
