Maila promise improved service at Praktiseer Testing Station

An unannounced visit by the Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality’s mayor Eddie Maila to the Praktiseer Traffic station is expected to improve services at the facility.

Maila visited the Praktiseer vehicle testing station on June 6.  He was checking compliance from the staff and if locals where receiving good service at the centre.

Amongst the challenges he discovered, was the damaged generator, it led to the facility failing to render services during load shedding and power cuts. Motorists struggled to renew their licenses when there was no power. The mayor also seemed concerned about the long queues.

According to the management of the station, they were experiencing long queues because they were understaffed.

“We will ensure that the vacant posts are filled and have the generator fixed with immediate effect.  This  is to ensure better services are brought to the people,” revealed  Maila.

Driving School owners were pleased with Maila’s intervention.

“We are glad that he has visited the station, this will surely improve services and our businesses can improve. We hope all the promises he made are fulfilled. The generator will be vital as well as additional staff members at the station,” said owner of Lefa’s Driving School, Lefa Mafane.

After Maila’s visit to the centre, he proceeded to the Praktiseer Library where he was monitoring the building of the library.

The mayor engaged local business owners and advised them to work together in completion of projects. He suggested they have a common goal, which is improving their communities.

Maila  was also satisfied with the progress on the R16 million library. He assured locals that the Praktiseer Library was expected to be completed in June 2023.
