Sekhukhune TVET College’s Centre For Entrepreneurship honours bootcamp participants

GROBLERSDAL – The Sekhukhune TVET College’s Centre for Entrepreneurship – Rapid incubator – hosted a business leadership price-giving gala dinner at them Loskop Valley Lodge and Restaurant outside Groblersdal on Tuesday, 17 May 2022 evening in recognition of the cohort of participants of the three-day entrepreneurship bootcamp

Mpatha Makakase, Relay Institute Managing Director and bootcamp facilitator, emphasised on the positive impact the programs of the three-day bootcamp had on the entrepreneurs who participated and applauded them as she further encouraged them to implement all absorbed from the initiative towards their growth.

Joyce Mphele, Sekhukhune TVET College Deputy Principal on academic affairs, reiterated on the need for the country to take the direction of entrepreneurship and for people to create employment.

Mphele further encouraged the entrepreneurs to join hands and ensure they formed joined ventures as other big businesses for their own success.

“With the collaboration it is easy to minimise the risk because you are sharing the burden. It is never easy when you are working on your own,” said Mphele.

Sabelo Ntshangase, Branch Manager Seda Sekhukhune, advised that there were no shortcomings in entrepreneurship and that there was need for determination and discipline with the willingness to take risks.

Ntshangase appealed to the program participants to believe in themselves at all times in their venture and advised that there was no space for getting overwhelmed.

“Believe in your product and believe in what you do at all times. Never give up. Do not be overwhelmed and be disciplined. Work hard and network,” said Ntshangase.

Lefentja Mampuru, Mohlaletse Guest House and KB Guest House Managing Director, who is also Limpopo Women in Tourism Deputy Director, shared that entrepreneurship was something very spiritual and about taking risks.

Mampuru encouraged the entrepreneurs not to be afraid to make mistakes and learn from those to grow their businesses.

One of the participants of the bootcamp program, Eric Makua Lefatse from the LaMorobela PTY Ltd, said the platform empowered them in many ways than one as entrepreneurs and encouraged stakeholders to opt for local entrepreneurs when needing services.

Tebogo Kekana, Sekhukhune TVET College Principal, said: “commit yourself and get yourself dirty, work. Always do more than you are expected to do. Be honest and reliable in your businesses, please” advised Kekana.

On behalf of Sekhukhune District Municipality Executive Mayor, Julia Mathebe, MMC Jan Mohlala, commended the Sekhukhune TVET college for its massive contribution towards providing solutions to challenges faced by the district.

MMC Mohlala said skills development, which the college strives to heighten, was key in the fight against the high rate of unemployment in the country.

Mohlala expressed gratitude for the program and called for a tight working relationship between businesses and the district municipality to improve lives of people.

More than fifteen of the participants of the bootcamp were awarded certificates for their completion of the program.
