A man was allegedly assaulted in front of the Limpopo premier
Ga-Masemola
Former member of Project Steering Committee (PSC) of D4253 alleged he was assaulted by the premier’s bodyguards in front of the provincial, district and local government leadership.
The D4253 was officially unveiled by premier Mathabatha on October 12th partnered with Road Agency Limpopo (RAL) and MEC for Public Works and Infrastructure, Dickson Masemola.
Clive Mosoane claim he was attacked, kicked and drugged down when trying to raise request programme director take questions from respective Masemola residents.
Mosoane wanted to ask the premier queries regarding service delivery but he couldn’t as the drafter programme didn’t have such slot.
He said it was advantage for community to direct concern issues to the provincial leadership.
But instead, Mosoane allege he was harshly confronted, condemned and got kicked on his chest which led him to fall down.
“I was merely pleading with the programme director to allow residents to raise their concerns regarding service delivery here in Ga-Masemola. We thought it was our advantage to be allowed to raise questions,” said Mosoane.
He said it was injustice for provincial leadership to come and address communities without taking any queries.
Mosoane said his constitutional rights of including freedom of expression were infringed.
Asked how he felt being attacked in front of the mass, he said he didn’t feel embarrassed instead he felt courage as he deems he challenged the ill of the leadership.
“This was not the first time the ANC officials attack me. Back in 2016 I was also attacked when former Makhuduthamaga speaker presents IDP programme. The speaker told us the construct a bridge which was a lie and I questioned where the bridge was and I was attacked, but lucky enough brave leaders intervened,” Mosoane explained.
Meanwhile the former Community Liaison Officer (CLO), Samuel Mokalapa, confirmed that Mosoane was indeed assaulted.
He said it was an embarrassment to evident the scuffle in the presence of police as Mosoane was raising important points which needed decisive leadership to address it.
He said an assault to Mosoane was politically motivated as one of the attacker said “this is our event”.
“I was sitting in front in one of the tents when Mosoane was dragged down. In fact we thought it was the official unveiling of the road we fought for only to discover that it was ANC campaign for upcoming elections,” said Mokalapa.
Attempted to get comment from premier’s spokesperson, Willy Mosoma were fruitless as his phone rang unanswered.
