Ga-Nkoana
A campaign of monitoring schools in this third term by Member of Executive Committee (MEC) for education in Limpopo Polly Boshielo has reached out to public schools in Sekhukhune.
Last week, MEC Boshielo and her team visited and monitored two schools to asses sit in and challenges schools may face during this pandemic.
Following extended school winter break, the MEC paid visit to Frank Mashile and Tlakale Nchabeleng primary schools.
Both schools are located under Seotlong circuit within FetaKgomo Tubatse Local Municipality (FTLM) in Ga-Nkoana area.
Previously the department has issued a statement welcoming learners back at schools on rotational timetables.
On Monday, all primary schools for daily attendance were returned for learning and teaching programme.
Unauthorised, non academic visits to schools are prohibited based on the current COVID-19 risk adjusted strategy level and the need for schools to strictly focus on catching up on lost teaching and learning time.
Boshielo said she was assessing the settling in of learners and assist in areas where there might be challenges.
“We are happy to welcome back our learners, educators and support staff back to school. We have a mammoth task ahead of us in terms of catching up on lost time, at the same time navigating through challenges presented by COVID-19. I am however confident that we will have a productive third term,” said MEC Boshielo.
She said pupils must not defy covid-19 regulations therefore they should continue on wearing masks, daily screening, sanitising of hands and frequently touched surfaces, and social distancing.
