Reported missing man’s body found

MOUTSE – The Malefahlo family in Moutse outside Groblersdal is reeling in shock after the discovery of a body of one of their own who had been missing since Saturday 17 July.

The body of 30 year-old Cecil Malefahlo was on Monday, 26 July discovered at a river between Machiding and Moteti areas by a herdsman.

The discovery of Malefahlo’s body came as the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Dennilton were on a search operation to locate him after he was reported missing.

Then it was reported that the 30 year-old man left his home in Kirkvorchfontein without informing anyone where he was going.

It was alleged that the deceased received a phone call that evening from someone not known to his family and thereafter, he left home driving in his White Polo TSI.

Police conducted search operations at relatives, friends and surrounding areas without success until the discovery of his body by the herdsman on Monday.

The family said they were saddened by what had happened and that they could not believe when they went to identify his body.

Residents in Moutse expressed shock following the discovery of the body and cited that the area became increasingly unsafe.

They called on police to leave no stone unturned in finding the culprit(s) and ensuring that they are brought to book.

Seun Mogotji, Bolsheviks Party of South Africa (BPSA) leader, worried that Moutse, Dennilton in particular, has recently become a crime hotspot where people were murdered at an alarming rate and perpetrators of the crimes were not arrested.
