After the completion of D4253 tar road of 5,8 km from Thabampshe cross to Mahwibitswane T-junction by Gebenga Construction company, unknown culprits vandalised and properties were stolen at site office, a former Community Liaison Officer (CLO), Samuel Mokalapa confirmed.

In regards to working staff, he said the Gebenga Construction had previously appointed 23 employees, 9 management, 9 operators and administrators, clerk CLO and safety representative.
“I am satisfied because all the workers were paid according to the government gazette,” he explained.
He however expressed his disappointment due to demolished toilets and stolen properties.
“I am deeply disappointed about what happened at the former office site, as the community we should do better, like for now we don’t have a toilet here in Thabampshe cross and we were going to benefit from it but some stupid people decided to vandalised and steal the equipment,” he briefed.
Samuel said the contract left on March 12 after completing a 5,8 km road.
But some of the Project steering committee members (PSC) said they were not informed when the contractor left the place.
“The contractor ran away because his work is not complete. We are PSC and we have the right to know when the work is done so we could report to the community. Something smells fishy and we will find out soon and expose whatever shenanigans happening here,” they said.
Samuel said social consultant told them that they were waiting for an engineer to survey the tar road before they could do the hand over.
