Mhaule visits local schools in Tubatse

BURGERSFORT

With teachers having reopened on Monday, the Department of Basic Education said they are satisfied with the readiness of local schools in Tubatse.
Basic education’s deputy minister, Dr Makgabo Reginah Mhaule, and the Limpopo education MEC, Polly Boshielo, visited schools in Tubatse on Monday to assess their state of readiness . Among the schools visited included, Bogwasha, Marakabele, Batau, and Lehlabile primary schools.

During the visits, they met with the school governing bodies and school management teams (SMTs).
“The oversight visits come as the sector moves closer towards welcoming pupils as part of the commencement of the 2021 academic calendar and with the sector having welcomed back SMTs and teachers.
“The visits were part of the Covid-19 compliance monitoring exercise to ensure the safety of pupils and teachers as they return to school,” said the department.
Mhaule said she was impressed with the set-up.

” I am happy with the readiness at the four schools. They seemed well prepared. The safety of the learners and educators is important to the department.”
