D4150 roads projects remains unfinished
GA MOTODI
Ga Motodi Village motorists are still struggling to move smoothly into 2026, as the community continues to face last year’s challenges on the problematic D4150.
The route, which links Praktiseer, Ga-Motodi, Stasie, and Makotaseng to Taung Village, remains a major concern for locals. Residents say the Roads Agency Limpopo (RAL) and its contractor abandoned the road construction project around August 2025.
“It remains unfinished. The heavy rains have made the damage even worse,” said resident Madala Mohlala.
The project also includes the incomplete Tswetlane access bridge. Locals claim the contractor has left the site and cannot be found. A recent visit by this publication found no construction activity.
The D4150 has been described as a “deathtrap” by residents. With construction paused for months, the project is less than 50% complete and in a dangerous state.
RAL has acknowledged the existence of so-called “Bermuda roads” (incomplete roads) and said it plans to finish them once funding is available.
Frustrated locals have reached out for answers. This publication contacted RAL’s communications officer, Luyanda Sithole, who had not responded at the time of going to press.
