DENNILTON – Limpopo MEC for Health, Dieketseng Mashego, has demonstrated her commitment to improving healthcare services in the province with a recent visit to Philadelphia Hospital in Dennilton, Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality (EMLM).
During her festive season oversight monitoring visit, conducted on Friday 19 December 2025, Mashego identified serious areas of concern, including poor cleanliness and inadequate record management, which she emphasized compromised patient dignity, safety, and quality of care.
In response to the conditions, Mashego requested support from Mankweng Tertiary Hospital, led by CEO Mokgadi Mogashoa, to address the shortcomings.
A multidisciplinary team from Mankweng Tertiary Hospital, including management, administrators, cleaners, and grounds-men, descended on Philadelphia Hospital to provide hands-on support.
The team conducted a Gemba walkabout at OPD, casualty, laundry, and kitchen, and worked to clean the facility, cut and clear grass, and improve surroundings.
They also shared best practices on cleanliness, file management, and creating a welcoming environment for patients and the community.
“The cleanliness of the hospital must be maintained at all material times, and the hospital must consistently deliver quality healthcare services,” Mashego reiterated.
She indicated that Mankweng Tertiary Hospital will continue to provide ongoing support and monitor progress to ensure sustained improvement at Philadelphia Hospital.
Mashego’s hands-on approach highlights her dedication to improving healthcare in Limpopo, and her commitment to ensuring that patients receive quality care.
