PTA members enhance tourism skills

The Polokwane Tourism Association (PTA) has launched a two-week Amadeus Training programme, aimed at equipping its members with essential skills in tourism and hospitality.

The initiative, which was organised in partnership with EFT Training, Naledi Hospitality, Polokwane Local Municipality (PLM), and Capricorn District Municipality (CDM), seeks to enhance the quality of services offered to tourists visiting Polokwane, positioning the city as a premier tourism destination in South Africa.

During the programme, the participating members gained access to opportunities to grow their skills and knowledge in the tourism industry, networking with professionals and businesses across the sector and having opportunity to get the latest trends and developments in tourism industry.

The Amadeus Training session is considered a powerful step forward in shaping their career by boosting their expertise in tourism and hospitality so that they could stay ahead with industry tools and insights.

The training also plays a pivotal role in unlocking new career paths and advancement opportunities for the participants.

As part of its objectives, the training programme also focuses on imparting knowledge and skills in areas such as tour guiding, equipping trainees with techniques for effective tour guiding, including communication skills and knowledge of local attractions.

The initiative is also set to equip them with best practices for managing hospitality establishments, including customer service and event management.

Furthermore, through the programme, the participants gain understanding in the tourism industry, including marketing and management of tourism products, hands-on experience in tour guiding, hospitality management, and tourism operations.

The initiative underscores the association’s commitment to improving service delivery and ensuring that visitors to Polokwane have a memorable experiences.
