Taung High School celebrate 100% matric pass rate

Taung High School celebrated its 2024 matric results during an award ceremony held at the school on February 7. This school from the Bogwasha Circuit achieved a 100% matric pass rate with the 2024 matric results. They are one of the four schools in the circuit that have achieved the 100%. They are three is Moukangoe, Mathafeng and Dikotope high schools.
All 36 matric pupils at Taung passed their exams, 17 achieved bachelors, 12 diplomas and seven passed with higher certificates. There were also seven distinctions from the school.
A delighted school principal LM Makofane said they were honoured by the Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality and teacher union Sadtu for their remarkable achievements.
“To succeed, we first had to instill discipline on our kids, we did that with the assistance from the members of the community, school management team, the parents and the traditional leadership. The class of 2024 were disciplined and hard working”, said Makofane.
He also appreciated support from local primary schools that supply doing with dedicated learners. On the day, the school honoured the best educators, best pupils from Grade 10- 12 and many more pillars at the schools.
The school management team also thanked circuit personnel, the Magoshi, local councilors and principals from neighbouring schools for attending the celebrations. Pick N Pay (Tubatse Crossing) sponsored the three top performing matric pupils with gifts and vouchers.
Taung school’s top matric pupils for 2024 was Tshegofatjo Lekubu, Leago Mnisi, Lethabo Komane and Karabo Tjatji.
