SAPS Limpopo warns of recruitment scams

POLOKWANE

Members of the public have recently been the victims of recruitment scams involving non-existent SAPS jobs.
This was confirmed by the Limpopo SAPS commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe.
On October 11, Hadebe cautioned the public about ongoing recruitment scams that promise prospective job seekers employment opportunities within the SAPS in exchange for financial compensation.
She said anyone who has been a victim or has been approached by the alleged scammers soliciting money should contact the law enforcement authorities.
“Jobs in the SAPS is not for sale, therefore cannot be bought. Community members should be aware that our recruitment and selection processes are transparent, merit-based and do not involve any payment at any level. As a result, we encourage all community members who have fallen victim to these scammers to come forward and report them to their local police station,” reiterated Hadebe.
For correct recruitment information, the public is urged to visit the official SAPS website. They are also advised to report criminals to Crime Stop on 08600 10111, or the nearest police station, or use the My SAPSApp.
Police investigations are continuing.
